CAMPAIGN PRESS RELEASE: New Yes on 2 Ad “Our Kids” Debuts on Broadcast TV and Digital

The new 30 second spot highlights coalition voices calling for an end to the MCAS graduation requirement, after a week of big-ticket endorsements

BOSTON (October 8, 2024) Today, the Committee for High Standards Not High Stakes released “Our Kids,” the latest TV ad for the Yes on 2 campaign. The ad features parents, teachers, and a pediatrician from the Commonwealth speaking out about the harmful impact that the MCAS graduation requirement has on students and standards.

“The MCAS graduation requirement gives too much power to a standardized test that can’t fully measure a student’s preparedness for success after graduation. We are proud to stand with students, teachers, and medical professionals in the effort to end high-stakes testing and maintain the highest education standards,” said Deb McCarthy, a K-12 teacher of 25 years and Vice President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. “Vote Yes on Question 2 to bring joy and individualized learning back into the classroom.”

The 30 second spot will begin airing today, Tuesday, October 8th as part of the ongoing 8-figure advertising effort running through Election Day.
